On Tour!

Day Two: London

It is late after another full day, so this update will be brief. We started off in Windsor to see Windsor Castle and explore nearby for the morning. Many travelers immediately relaxed when they saw how quaint the area was, a big change from overwhelming London. But the Castle itself was impressive. After a short guided tour by the wonderful local guide Kevin, we explored on our own to see Queen Mary’s Doll’s House, the State Apartments, the chapel where many royals are buried including Queen Elizabeth and Henry the 8th. Then travellers broke off in groups to eat and shop until time to go. Someone even caught the debut of Johnny Depp’s new art show in a little gallery.

We hopped on a swanky new bus with wonderful A/C and restaurant-style seats for a bus tour of London led by Kevin where despite a tight time table we were able to fit in stops at Buckingham Palace, the Parliament Buildings, and St. Paul’s Cathedral. The whole way, Kevin shared details and stories about the city and monuments and answered questions.

We had Asian food and caramel-drizzled cheesecake at Wagamama before heading back a bit early to plan our last London day. Everyone seemed in great spirits and having fun.
